The heavy damages inflicted on theatrical sites by the bombings of the Second World War are an eloquent image of the offenses against the cultural identity and inner landscape of all of us. Those theatres which in those years had organised concerts for the war-wounded were now wounded by the war. La Scala in Milan was rebuilt between 1943 and 1946, the Dal Verme in 1946, the Farnese between 1956 and 1960.
